Introduction

For my A level coursework I have been set the task of creating the trailer, poster and TV magazine cover for a soap opera, yet also doing in-depth research into the genre and it's conventions. Within the trailer I hope to achieve a like-for-like portrayal of real life stereotypes, and actively show the problems people face each and every day. The trailer is going to be filmed in a mixture of environments including indoor, and outdoor. We hope to explore a variety of taboo subjects; lesbianism, alcholism, suicide and murder. While this may be a lot of areas to explore for a trailer, we are hoping this will aide drawing in high viewing figures.
